Larry J. Vickers

Larry J. Vickers, 81, of Cove was born December 28, 1930 in Uvalde and passed away Thursday, February 16, 2012 at home. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and retired from Rohm and Haas with 28 years of service. He was a member of Deer Park Masonic Lodge #1369 for 49 years and was also a member of the Holiday Rambler Club and the Cushman Club of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Louise Vickers and son, Carson Wayne Vickers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joyce Vickers of Cove; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Mark Eldridge of Cleburne; daughter-in-law, Annette Vickers of Cove; grandchildren, Curtis and Crystal Vickers of Beach City, Heather and Keith Hightower and Mark William Eldridge, all of Cleburne, and Courtney and Michael and Jennifer Hanks, all of Dayton; and great grandchildren, Khyla, Cade, and Kearston Vickers, Ashleigh, Samual, and Rhodora Hightower, Jase Bailey, Madison, Jacob, Corey and Mikey Hanks.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services with Masonic rites will be Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Biddy officating. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Houston National Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Mark W. Eldridge, Mark L. Eldridge, Curtis Vickers, Keith Hightower, Hubert Burrell, and Ted Burrell.
