Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, March 17, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Barber-Williams Cemetery in Mont Belvieu.

Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joshua and Laura Williams; husband, James Ocie Smith; brothers, Odie, Haywood, Charlie, and Weldon Williams; and sisters, Ethlyn McCawley, Verda Sample, and Donnie Merrill Harmon. She is survived by her son, James Ocie Smith Jr. of Lufkin; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Beverly and Mike Boykin of Cove, Louise Collier of South Houston, Duane and Peggy Sample of Houston, Eugene and Norma McCawley of Baytown, Al and Susan McCawley of Old River, Glenda and Clyde Sims of Lovelady, Cecil and Betty McCawley of Old River, Patsy Wetch of Billings, MT, Alton Williams of Cove, Glenn and Linda Merrill of Harper, Don and Mary Jayne Merrill of Hemphill, Dineen and Mark Armstrong of Henderson, NV, and Thelma Crocker of Mesquite; special great nephews, Mitch Wetch of Baytown and Daniel Edwards of Houston; special nephew-in-law and wife, Kenneth and Dimples Smith of Baytown; many more great and great great nieces and nephews; and special friends and neighbors, Heraldo and Mary Ann Solis and Bambi and Nona Rios.
