

Lieutenant John James Carr, 49 of Cypress, formerly of Baytown, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017. He served as a fireman at station 2 for the City of Baytown for the past 28 years and 3 years at Cy-Fair VFD. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a big-hearted man who always had a positive outlook on life. He was a hard worker and was skilled in many areas. He was a jack of all trades and he always used his talents to help others. He was passionate about fundraising for M.D.A. as well as numerous other causes. He was a member of the International Association of Firefighters. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of over 23 years, Jamie Carr of Cypress; sons, Ryan Carr and wife, Amber of Crosby, and Dylan Carr of Cypress; granddaughter, Everlynn Harmony Carr; parents, Robert and Maejean Carr; siblings William “Bill” Carr and wife, Tammie, Thomas Carr and wife, Michelle, and Joan Thomson and husband Richard Tomson, Jr.; and numerous other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends Friday July 14, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 W. Baker, Baytown, TX, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. The funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. officiated by Reverend Terence Brinkman.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Carr, Ryan Carr, Dylan Carr, Michael Dawson, Josh Young, Jason Cochran, Jeff Dagle, and Tret Darr.
