Cathy, I was your neighbor from 1959-65. I was age 9-15. I found your dad very friendly and very funny to talk with.  I remember you showing me a book about the Indianapolis and pointing out his name.  At the time I did not fully understand ""the big picture"". I do now. He was a true hero. You must be very proud.  I pray for you because of all your losses; your Mom, Charlotte and now your Dad. 
May God continue to give you strength and courage to face the future without them.

I'll miss Lindsey, He made me laugh with his stories when he was in port in San Francisco before he was shipped out on the USS Indy.

Mr. Wilcox and I met just 3 short years ago and through many visits and conversations, we became fast friends.  I will miss this gentle man and finally...he will no longer be at sea, but in the arms of a loving God.  My condolences go out to his daughter and grandson in every way.  may the loving arms of Jesus wrap around you both and bring you peace and comfort.

I was raised with Mr. Wilcox as our next-door neighbor.  Once I asked if he would come to our High School to share his WWII experiences with my History class and without hesitation, he came and mentored us.  He will always be remembered in our hearts as a true American hero and our most sincere thoughts and prayers go out to the family.  He will be greatly missed.

I worked with Zeb many years at Solvay and remember him as a true gentleman.  We will all miss him.  Your family is in my prayers.

We will both miss you greatly; you were an inspiration to us all with the courage and tenacity it took to be a ""survivor.""  Thank you for being our greatest ""Bell Booster"" for the Cedar Bayou UMC Bayou Bells for so many years!

I have fond memories of working with you.  I remember you telling me of your war time experiences.

I will miss Lindsey and his great singing at the Iwo JIma convention in Wichita Falls. I loved all the precious memories I had with him and the Indy boys. He was a great friend of the DAV. Commander Joel Jimenez

A true hero and great man has passed. Mr. Wilcox left his legacy and history with 100s of high school students. You will be missed but remembered.

Mr. Wilcox was a remarkable man.  I only knew him for less than two years but in that short time he made quite an impression.  I was blessed to have known him and call him my friend. I thank him for his dedication and service to this country and to the memory of his shipmates.  He will be missed.
