Louis was born March 11, 1941 in Highlands, TX to Albert and Katie Opal Martinez.
He received a degree from Lee College in 1961 and worked at the State of Texas Comptroller’s
Department Enforcement Office before beginning his career at Chevron Chemical where he
retired.
On June 30, 1962, he married Beverly Abbott. They had two daughters, Rhonda and Stephanie,
one son Louis Jr.. He enjoyed playing the piano and surrounding himself with the finer things of life.
His talent for decorating and landscaping awarded his residence in the Bray Oaks District of
Houston showcase home of the month in a local homeowners magazine. But his true enjoyment was spending time with his family.
Louis was preceded in death by his father, Albert Martinez, his mother, Katie Opal Martinez, and his brother, Albert “Buddy” Martinez.
He is survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Campbell, Stephanie Roark and spouse, Brad, son,
Louis “Skip” Martinez, their mother Beverly Martinez, brother Billy Joe Garner, 6 grandchildren,
and 4 great-grandchildren.
