She was preceded in death by her parents, Slim and Evelyn Whitener; husband, Al Land; and brother, Skinny Whitener. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Karry and Neal Hess, Arleen and Randy Stroud and Tina and Bruce Flowers, all of Dayton; grandchildren, Courtney, Ashley, Chelsea, Ethan, Britney, Misty, Callie, Candace and Katelyn; and great grandchildren, Bailey and Connor.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 13, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Pastor Wayne Turner and Pastor Troy Cartmill officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Ethan Ballinger, Will Hilton, David Hilton, Ray Hilton, Chris Curry and Bill Walles. Honorary pallbearer will be J. B. Turner.
