

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Clarence Monroe Bullock and Pearl Martin Bullock, and husband, William Wallace ""Wally"" Hefner. Martha is survived by her two daughters, Nancy Hefner Hawks and husband, Michael Lewis Hawks of Galveston, and Helen Hefner Sheehan and husband, James Scott Sheehan of Houston, her sister, Dona Elliot of Tyler, her four grandchildren Kelley Elaine Hawks of Mont Belvieu, Cassie Janette Hawks and spouse, Becky Black of Tucson, Arizona, Kinsey Hawks Sanders and husband, Ken Sanders of Crosby, Michael Thornton Hawks and wife, Charlsye Ming Hawks of Baytown, her step granddaughter, Amy Sheehan Wilkins and husband, Jay Alan Wilkins of Frankfurt, Germany, great-grandchildren, Kari Elaine Ellis, Kevin Thomas Ellis, and step great granddaughter, Lylah Grace Wilkins.
Martha grew up in Baytown and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School where she met Wally. They were charter members of First Presbyterian Church of Baytown and were the first couple to be married in the new sanctuary. Martha worked for the City of Baytown, originally as a cashier and worked her way up to office supervisor. In 1963, Martha and Wally founded Hefner's Fine Gifts and China, which was fondly known in Baytown for 40 years. Martha enjoyed history, travel with Wally, basset hounds, cooking, and old black and white movies.
She will be remembered as a loving sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, aunt, and dear friend.
Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Jim Gill officiating. Private family internment service will be at San Jacinto Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston.
