

Mary “Opal” Patterson Turner, 94, of Baytown passed away Saturday, December 1, 2007 in Angleton, Texas. Opal as she was known to her family and friends succumbed to complications from leukemia. Opal loved to play golf and bridge, and was past President of the Goose Creek Lady’s Golf Association. An avid bridge player she participated in numerous bridge clubs, and was a duplicate player. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church. Opal loved her family and was proud of each of her nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews.
Opal was preceded in death by her Husband, Frank S. Turner; parents, William and Ella Van Dorn Patterson; brothers, W.E. Patterson Jr., and Leon Patterson; sisters, Jeanette Burris, Wenonah “Toddy” Clements, and Ruth “Cotton” Patterson.
Survivors include numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Funeral Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 4, 2007, in the Navarre Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be 3:00 P. M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday, December 3, 2004. Graveside services will be at 1:30 P.M. at Angleton Cemetery in Angleton, Texas following Tuesdays service.
Serving as pallbearers will be Christopher Austin, James Austin, Taylor Locke, Spencer Clements, W. E. Patterson, and Bo Patterson.
In lieu of flowers and other memorials the family request memorial donations to the Sterling Municipal Library in Baytown.
