

Michael A. ""Bear"" Jordan, 68, of Brenham received his wings and transitioned into heaven on Thursday, December 23, 2010. Born May 16th, 1942, Mike grew up in Baytown and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School. He served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962 through 1965. The main focus of his career was serving the criminal justice system in multiple capacities. He began his career in Baytown as a policeman and ended his service as Police Chief for the San Jacinto College District. Throughout his life, he served as a counselor, advisor, and supporter. Throughout Mike's lifetime he volunteered for many community organizations and his church, giving his time and service to others. He was currently a member of the House of Worship in Brenham and was a member of Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321.
His greatest gift was the love and wisdom he shared with his family. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Helen; children, Michael Ken Lee and Dana Jordan, Blake and Julie Jordan, Michelle and Rob Levinsohn, Ben and Angie Jordan, Jackie and Charlie Anderson and Dodd and Emily Burnette. Michael was known as Bear to his beloved grandchildren and was the comforter and greatest Champion to Ryan, Drew, Macy, Sara, April, Dylan, Gabe, Ethan, Jonathan, Janie, Hailee, Hannah, Heather, Jacob Price and Mason. He also leaves his loving sisters, Elane Moore and Velma Ansley-Nelson along with his dear sister-in-law, Susie Jordan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Faulk and his brother, Ernest L. Jordan.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. His good Friend and Brother in Christ, Reverend James Booth of the Island Community Church will lead the funeral service on Monday, December 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Navarre Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery in Webster.
Serving as pallbearers will be Dodd Burnette, Charlie Anderson, Drew Anderson, Rob Levinsohn, Ryan Jordan, and M. L. Mayo.
In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made in honor of Mike to The 100 Club Survivor's Fund, 5555 San Felipe St., Suite 520, Houston, Texas 77056-2733.
