Mike was a kind-hearted, generous, selfless family man. He loved to spend time with his family and friends. He enjoyed a cold beer on the back porch watching a football game with fellow faithful Texans fans. Mike’s second home was on the water. A day fishing for Trout and big Drum with Brenda and friends on Matagorda Bay and Lake Sam Rayburn. He never stopped working on the next new project at the family Lake House or the Beach House in Sargent. Mike loved being outside and was constantly finding an excuse to mow, trim, tinker, build, fix, or inspect. Mike always said, “I don’t have to go to work; I get to go to work” and he tirelessly worked many long over-time shifts as an outstanding conductor for the Union Pacific Railroad for over 38 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother and sister-in-law, Paul Douglas May and Mary May.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Brenda May; daughters, Stephanie Burch and her husband, Tye; Tiffany and her husband, Wes; Kelly Dyson and her husband, Casey; grandchildren: Lane Burch, Belle Burch, Finnley Dyson, Ella Clow and Jace Clow; brother, John May and his wife Danna; many more nieces and nephews and other family.
