Micheal Anthony Moody (Bubba), 68, of Baytown, Texas, passed away, on Sunday, July 6, 2025. He was born on August 16, 1956, in Baytown, to the late James Malcolm Sr. and Melba B. Moody. At the age of 20, Micheal married the love of his life Deborah (Debbie) and together they spent the next 48 years making a life together while raising their three children.
Micheal pursued many interests, some of which included fishing, hunting, and mowing. He would often be found watching a game on TV or sitting on the porch with family or friends. Micheal also enjoyed working on Deborah’s numerous projects and going to the casino. He was a hard worker, who did whatever it took to make sure that his wife and children were well loved and taken care of. Micheal came from a large family, so there was always a fun time to be had with lots of laughter. Above all, his joy came from being a dad, grandfather and great-grandfather. He made sure to be an active parent and grandparent and instilled his values in life in all of them.
Micheal was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter Melissa Joyce Horta. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife Deborah; his children Shane Moody and wife Leah, and Michelle Helm; his grandchildren Sierra Hinton and husband Nathan, Ryan Helm, Savannah Hunt and husband Caeden, Karianna Horta, Melanie Horta, Kayla Helm, A.J. Horta, and Lane Moody; his great-grandchildren Briley and Cooper Hunt; his siblings Cynthia Gore, Donna Boullion and husband Gil, Melba Waller, Jimmy Moody and wife Colleen, and Barry Moody and wife Pam; his numerous nieces and nephews; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
The family will receive guests at Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, located at 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas, 77521, on July 12, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at the same venue starting at 2:00 pm. The graveside service will take place at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas, 77521, on July 12, 2025, at 3:30 pm.
