Mike Kingston

Mike Kingston, 72, of Baytown was born April 11, 1946, in Houston and passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018, at his home. Mike was always known to be a simple man and of few words, but with a loving heart and genuine desire to help others. He owned Kingston Feed Store for many years, and was a great supporter of the youth of Baytown through 4-H, FFA, and the Baytown Youth Fair. His business diversified to the Pet Grooming shop he operated with his daughter and family friend, Ramona Harrell and he had a multitude of loving four legged friends. He loved his hobby of rock collecting and the work he did with them. He will be remembered for his close bond and love for his grandchildren and the many close friends in his life who considered him a father, grandfather and trusted friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Edward Kingston and Ona Lee Owen; infant daughter, Trinette Kingston; and brother, Pat Kingston. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Marina Kingston; daughters and son-in-law, Deana Kingston Vavra and fiancé, Ty Howard and Kary and Michael Hokett; special sister, Luann Bland; former spouse, Faith Courville; grandchildren and their spouses, Tyler and Raluca Kingston and Kyle and Brittany Kingston and their mother, Shana Kingston, Makenna McBride and Lucas Vavra and his father, Tim Vavra, Sebastian and Sophia Kingston, and Isaac, Isaiah, and Shawn Hokett; and nephews and nieces, Carl and Kim Roy and their children, Corbin and Brenna and Nick and Consuela Bland and their son, Cash.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home for a memorial visitation on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

His family would like to say a special “thank you” to Texas Oncology, Altus Cancer Center, Harbor Hospice, and the many physicians and nurses who provided special care.
