Gene worked for GTE for over 25 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed and will live forever in our hearts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Leon Wied; parents, Al and Margie Smith; and sister, Shirley Clements.
She is survived by her daughter, Donnelle Derrett of Baytown, TX; son, Dennis Wied of Baytown, TX; grandchildren, Shanna and Matthew Pyle of Baytown, TX, Ray Derrett and Keaton Smith of Baytown, TX; great grandchildren, Peyton and Makenzie Pyle of Baytown, TX; sister and brother-in-law, Audene and Joe Dixon of Paradis, LA; brother, Wayne Smith of Baytown, TX; brother-in-law, Lowell and Barbara Herrington of Baytown, TX; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members.
