

She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia on April 13, 1934 to William Ralph Slade and Lowe Pansy (Caudill) Slade.
Nancy graduated from McClain’s Business College in 1953 and went to work at Clarks Furniture Store. She married Elmer Takach September 25, 1954, they were together until his death in 2018. Nancy loved God and she loved serving her church. She was involved in ministry as a church pianist and sang both in the choir and as a soloist. She served in the prayer ministry and tape ministry. Nancy collected angels and had them throughout her house and yard. She also enjoyed arts, crafts, and cooking. She created beautiful Christmas ornaments; angels and bells made of crystal beads, and eggs. She also made jewelry from quail eggs. At Christmas she baked and gave treats to friends and family.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Pansy Slade, her brother, William Slade and her husband, Elmer Takach.
She is survived by her brother Robert Slade and Linda, sister-in-law Donna Slade, son Bill Takach and Elene, son John Takach and Lisa, son Stephen Takach, and daughter Melinda Eustes and Steve, grandchildren Elizabeth Takach, Dr. Timothy Takach, Benjamin Takach and Marlene, Dana Martin and Chris, Dr. Caitlin Coco and Patrick, Jared Takach, Rachel Morini and Kyle, Morgan Takach, Kamden Takach, Rebecka Takach, Sean Eustes, Christopher Eustes and great grandchildren Pierre Coco, Emmit Coco and Lieth Morini.
We would like to thank the staff of The Bradford Memory Care for their love and care during the last year of mom’s life and we would also like to thank Devotion Hospice for the love and care provided the last 7 weeks of mom’s life.

A committal for Nancy will be held Saturday, August 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Cedarcrest Cemetery, 3010 Ferry Rd, Baytown, TX 77520. Following the committal will be a celebration of life at 11:30 AM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, TX 77521.
