Jane was born on October 21, 1926 in the historic town of Goliad, Texas. She grew up on a ranch where her father worked as a Ranch Foreman. She later moved to Kingsville and attended A&I College, and worked for a short time at a civil service job. After marrying her true love, Robert W. ""Bob"" Adams, she worked at Missouri Pacific Railroad's General office. They had three children, and her husband's job with Humble Oil (Exxon) took them to both Texas and Louisiana. They moved to Baytown in 1963 and raised their children there, where she worked for Exxon for 19 years, then retired in 1986.
Jane was a long time member of Wooster Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school many years ago. She had a very sweet, kind, and generous nature. Jane loved spending time with her family, and she loved to cook, enjoyed genealogy, and was an accomplished artist. She was always interested in art, but never had any formal lessons until 1981. She was a member of the Baytown Art League and Highlands Art League, and was active for many years, until she became unable to do so.
Jane was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Mabra Walton and Sarah Lottie Jane Arnold Walton; her siblings: Liz Craighead, Helen Parker, John Walton, Fred Walton, Buck Walton, and infant sister Maria Walton. After 58 years of marriage, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Adams.
Leaving to miss her greatly and cherish her memory, she is survived by her three children: Shirley Adams of Baytown, Sam Adams (Becky) of LaPorte, and Steven Adams (Laura) of Austin. She is also survived by grandchildren Matthew Adams, Ryan Adams (Robin), Michael Adams, Elizabeth Adams, and Andrew Adams-Whitehead, as well as many nieces and nephews.
