Norma Gail Cox

Norma Gail Cox, 79, of Baytown was born June 30, 1935, in Columbus, OH and passed away Tuesday, February 3, 2015, in a local hospital. She was a member of St. Mark's United Methodist Church where she taught Bible School. While raising her children, she was involved in PTA and was a Girl Scout Leader and Neighborhood Chairperson. She also enjoyed her aquatics class at the Bay Area Rehabilitation Center.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dr. Lafayette and Katharine Dodds and brother and sister-in-law, Lafayette II and Jeananne Dodds. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Roger W. Cox; children and their spouses, Cynthia and Randy Foster, Elaine and Dean Hechler, Dwight and Judy Cox, Stephen and Sherrie Cox, Katharine Cox and Randy Cain, Phillip and Melinda Cox, and Victoria Gordon; grandchildren, Jason, Jared, Lisa, Laura, James, Camille, Abigail, Nicolle, Roger, Eliza, Natalie, Connor, Bryce, Megan, Nathan, Phillip II, Tiffani, and Tara; thirteen great grandchildren; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Howard and Annette Cox, Caroline and Layne Ratcliff, Martha and Bill Peck, and Mary and Curt Simon.

Her family will receive friends for a memorial visitation at St. Mark's United Methodist Church, 3811 N. Main, Baytown, TX 77521 on Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A memorial service will be Saturday, February 7, 2015, at 5:00 p.m. at St Mark's United Methodist Church with Rev. Mike Proctor officiating.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may be made to the Sterling Municipal Library, 1 Mary Wilbanks Ave., Baytown, TX 77520, for the purchase of Audio Books.
