She was born to Charlie L. and Mary Williams on December 21, 1930. She graduated from Cedar Bayou High School, attended Lee College, and then worked at Culpepper’s furniture store until she married Albert “Boots” Nelson on February 22, 1953. Boots would always joke about her being the older lady, his birthday was in January of 1931.
As an active member of the Methodist Church, she loved playing the piano for the congregation. After raising her children, she enjoyed traveling with friends, going many different places around the world. She loved playing games.
You could always find Patsy in the kitchen, cooking or cleaning for all. She would make pancakes for her grand and great-grandkids at any time of day, and would have a pound cake around for dessert. She always had a hug for her family, and let them know she loved them often.
She was one of the kindest people you could know, and never had a bad word to say about anyone. She would tell stories that began with, “Now let me tell you,” and “I nearly know.” She would often tell stories of her dog Missy, that was her constant companion.
She will be deeply missed by her children and their spouses: Gary and Sandy Janacek, Gary and Sandi Nelson, Denny and Connie Dunivent, and Al Nelson; her grandchildren and their spouses: Jason and Britney Sette, Joel and Trish Joseph, Devin Dunivent and Scotty Brooks, Amanda Schriewer, Stephen and Kim Short, Ray and Sydni Nelson, Justin and Courtney Muir, Neel Nelson, and Landon and Macy Sarria. As well as her great-grandchildren Rayann, Hayden, Cole, Fiona, Jaxon, Reidland, Hudson, Kennedy, Bailey, Robey, Daniel, Scottlynn, Rabbit, Easton, Konley, Tommie, JoJo, Beckham, and Colt.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, her parents, her brother Bert Williams and wife Glenda, brother-in-law’s Joe Frank Robins and Lynn Enderli, and is survived by sisters Charlene Enderli and Norine Robins Dunn, as well as her dear friend and caregiver, Bert Stallworth.
A funeral service is planned for Friday, September 15th at Cedar Bayou Grace Methodist Church, 3700 N. Hwy. 146, Baytown, Texas 77521. Visitation is at 10 am, and the funeral will begin at 11 with graveside to follow at Cedar Bayou Masonic Cemetery.
