With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Phillis Kay Doucet Bomnskie, 76, of Baytown, Texas. Born in Houston, Texas, on January 15, 1949, to the late Martin and Lois Wilson Doucet, Phillis lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and unwavering love.
To know Phillis was to be truly loved. Her compassion had no bounds, her warmth embraced everyone she met, and her heart always had room for more. She had a unique gift for making others feel seen, heard, and deeply valued. Her friendships were nurtured with the same tenderness she gave her family, creating bonds that lasted a lifetime.
She found joy in dancing and took pleasure in participating in senior citizen events, embracing every opportunity to celebrate life with laughter and energy.
Above all, her greatest joy came from spending time with her beloved family, who affectionately knew her as Meemie or Mimi. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life—she celebrated every milestone, cherished every moment, and left behind a legacy of unconditional love.
Phillis was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Rhonda Walkup, and her nephew Joshua Walkup. She leaves behind a family who will forever cherish her memory: her daughter Michele Gray and husband Alan; her son Brian Bomnskie; her grandchildren Hollie Gillrup and husband Daniel, Heather Brandenburg and husband Ryan, Zachary Gray and wife Courtney, and Kade Gray; her great-granddaughters Logan and Audrey Gillrup and Lilian Gray; her brother-in-law Terry Walkup and wife Leona; her nephew Christopher Walkup and husband Dustin; numerous cousins; and her beloved great-grand fur baby, Max. Along with a host of devoted relatives and friends, Phillis leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains in the laughter of her grandchildren, in the kindness she showed to others, and in the love that she instilled in all who were lucky enough to know her.
