Robert Eugene Emanuel

Robert was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School (class of 1956) and was employed by Sears Roebuck and Company for 38 years. He worked at both the Texas Avenue and San Jacinto Mall locations, starting as a Receiving Clerk and worked his way up to Receiving Manager, until his retirement in 1995. Robert was drafted into the U.S. Army after high school and was stationed in Germany for a few years. He returned to the states and was stationed in Alabama before returning to Texas. After completion of his enlistment, he continued to serve our country in the U.S. Army Reserves at the 75th Maneuver Area Command in Houston, Texas, which later became the 75th Training Command, until his retirement in 1982 at the rank of Sergeant Major.

Robert was an active member at St. John’s Methodist Church and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, reading and taking care of his roses and plants.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Melba G. Emanuel and his sister, Betty J. Stringfellow.

Robert is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Emanuel of Baytown, son and daughter-in-law, Robert Emanuel and Elizabeth Suiter of Port Neches, daughter and son-in-law, Bill and Michelle Morris of Pearland and granddaughters Julia Emanuel of College Station and Melanie Morris of Pearland.

Visitation will be from 5-7 pm, Monday, November 20, 2023, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at Grandview Memorial Park Cemetery, 8501 Spencer Hwy., Pasadena, Texas 77505, with Pastor Ernest Bryson officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to St. John’s Methodist Church, 501 S. Alexander Dr., Baytown, Texas 77520-7573, or to a charity of your choice.
