Tonight was a pretty hard night,  not that every day I wake up is not. I so miss your shining face with your amazing smile that could light up my soul. All the little super heroes that came to our door tonight made me think of you in your Iron Man costume and the Spider-Man costume you talked me into buying. I know you didn't need two costumes but how could I say no to those big brown eyes that melted my heart. You wore them both many times though just to play. I miss hearing your laughter fill our house and my heart. I long for the day to hold you and hear your voice again.

I never knew that an actual broken heart physically hurts. I know everyone tells me that this will get better or easier with time, but I think they are wrong. It seems to become more of a reality and the numbness wears off. I think that you learn to function - not that it gets easier. I love you and miss you more than I could ever put in words. I will forever treasure the four years and three months that I was able to have you with me. There is not a second that passes that I don't think about you. You lit my life and made me complete.

As He Promised, He Will Do
John 14:1-4 “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.”
You and your family are always on my prayers.. Just remember that the day where we will meet again will come and that time it will be for eternity!

There is not a minute that goes by that I don't think of you.  This still seems so unreal.  I keep expecting you to come running through the door at any moment like you have just been spending the weekend with Grandma or Aunt Charrisa or something.  I feel like my whole world has been turned upside down and I don't know where to go from here.  You and Sydney have been my whole world.  I never realized that your heart physically hurts when it breaks.  I don't think I will ever be whole again.  Sydney misses you terribly too.  Every morning when I get ready for work I still wait to hear your little feet coming into the bathroom to tell me good morning followed by a huge hug and a giant kiss.  Then regardless what I looked like (just got out of the shower, now make-up, etc) you would always tell me, "Momma, you so pretty."  You always melted my heart.  Even when you would just look at me with those eyes, those huge brown eyes I swear you could see straight to heart, and those eyelashes that any girl would die for. Or the smiles....you had two...one that was more like a grin (that almost made you look like you were up to no good) when your teeth would barely show but you would have one little dimple on the right side...or my favorite the one that usually came with your infectious laugh, I could see all your teeth, both your dimples, still more so on the right, but when you smiled, it was so contagious.  It didn't matter what was going on, I couldn't help but laugh and smile with you.  I use to say that God made you so stinkin' cute to get you out of trouble.  You were such a good little boy, and so polite and loving.  I am so proud that I was given the opportunity to be your Mom.  Out of all the people in the world - God chose me to have you.  I get really upset about not having enough time with you.  I get mad at myself, God, or anyone else I can point the finger at, but I know God has a plan.  I can't for the life of me understand it, nor will I ever.  I keep thinking that there is maybe something amazing that I am supposed to do now to help someone else or something, but I don't know if I can.  I try to think of all of this in a different way: I think that instead of a punishment as some would think this is - this wasn't.  I think God gave you to me as a blessing, an amazing gesture of love. Maybe he couldn't live without you any longer.  I can't blame him for that; heck I am not sure I would have been able to make it for four years!  I guess he just decided that he needed his best little angel back with him.  I wish he would have given us more time, but I know that the four years that I had were some of the best of my life.  I have never been so proud to be a mom.  You and Sydney both will always be my life and I will forever have both of you in my heart.  Whether you are here sitting beside me or sitting beside God, I am your mother, and will be forever.  I can't wait to hold you again.  All my love!

I'm so sorry for your loss. I heard about it at church and my heart breaks for you. The only way to get through it is to get through it. I hope that God gives you comfort.

A butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam and for a brief moment its glory and beauty belong to our world and it flies again and we wish it could have stayed...We feel lucky to have seen it.
