Rosa Ena Lozano

Born on May 7, 1928 in Benavides, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Hermenegildo Hinojosa and Maria Salinas Hinojosa of Benavides, Texas and step-daughter of Elia R. Hinojosa from Alice, Texas. She lived in Benavides until she was 17 and then moved to Corpus Christi, Texas. In 1969, she moved to La Porte, Texas where she resided for 43 years and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She attended TSU College and was a teacher at the Harris County Head Start Program for many years.

She is survived by her life partner of 12 years, retired Command Sgt. Major Tony G. Zapta of La Porte; two sons, Jessie M. Lozano, Jr. of La Porte, TX and Richard Lozano and his wife, Marivel of Shoreacres, TX; two daughters, Rose Mary Williams and her husband Charles of Shoreacres, TX, and Annabelle Reedy of Shoreacres, TX; thirteen grandchildren, Jessie M. Lozano, III and his wife Keri, Jennifer Lozano, Jarred Lozano, Jacob Lozano, Raemie Garcia, Meagan Williams, C.J. Williams, Richard A. Lozano and his wife Charlene, Jessica Nava, Nicolette Lozano, and Tristan Lozano; three great-grandchildren, Espen Garcia, Miranda and Maelyn Lozano; brothers Roberto Hinojosa of Laredo, TX, and James Hinojosa and wife Eloisa of San Antonio, TX; sisters Dolores Bazan of Benavides, TX, Santitos Estrada and husband Juan of Corpus Christi, TX and Vicky Estringel of Alice, TX; sister-in-law’s Aurelia Hinojosa of La Porte, TX, Teresa Hinojosa of Laredo, TX.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Jesus M. Lozano, Sr. in 1999; her brothers Gilberto Hinojosa from Laredo, TX and Homero Hinojosa from La Porte, TX.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Earthman Funeral Home Chapel, 3919 Garth Rd, Baytown, TX 77521.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 816 Park Dr, La Porte, TX 77571. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Pasadena, TX.
