Ruth Graff Strausser was born on June 2,1929 in Arnold, Pennsylvania to Ernest and Sylvia Graff. She passed away on August 20, 2023. Ruth and her husband, John, moved their family to Baytown, Texas from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1963. She enjoyed 60 years living in Baytown. She was an avid reader who enjoyed visiting Sterling Municipal Library, and she enjoyed playing both social and competitive bridge. During her time in Baytown, she was a member of service organizations such as the Junior Achievement and the Gulf Wives organizations. She is a longtime member of Faith Presbyterian Church (formerly Westminster and First Westminster Presbyterian Church). Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, John Strausser. She is survived by two daughters, Donna Pilgrim and her husband, Charles Pilgrim and Susan Strausser and her husband, Dr. Joseph Otruba; three granddaughters, Laura Pilgrim, Katherine Lopez, and Sara Otruba; and her great-grandchildren, Charlee Lopez, Andi Lopez, Adrian Lopez, Calina Simental, and Olivia Simental. Services will be held on August 25, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a private burial. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to The Shriners Hospitals for Children.
