Salvador Barba, Sr.

Salvador Barba Sr., beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2005 in a Houston hospital. He was born May 30, 1948 in Progresso, Texas to Jesus and Delores Barba. He worked for Kellogg, Brown, and Root as a maintenance technician and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

Mr. Barba is preceded in death by his father, Jesus Barba. He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Maria Barba of Beach City, daughter & son-in-law, Elizabeth & George Rodriguez of Baytown, sons & daughters-in-law, Salvador & Laura Barba of Beach City, Osvaldo & Rachel Barba of Cove, mother, Delores Barba of Mexico, 6 sisters and 1 brother, grandchildren, Andrew, Tori, Jacob, Isaac, Presli, Matthew, Ashley, and Kimberly, special nephew, Eric Orozco and family, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Thursday, 10:00 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church with Father Luis Hernandez officiant. Burial will follow at Cedarcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8 am to 9 pm on Wednesday at Navarre Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. Pallbearers will be Salvador Barba Jr., Osvaldo Barba, Eric Orozco, George Rodriguez, Jesus Ponce, and Ricardo Garcia.
