S.D. Ellisor

He was born on October 10, 1936 in Waverly, Texas to Seth D. and Pauline Ellisor. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Sarah Ann Warford, Francis Mathis (Jim) and Falvey Patton (Fred).

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Janiece Ellisor of Baytown, his children and their spouses, Jennifer and Bill Nitschmann, Suzette and Gordon Schutze; grandchildren, Nicholas Nitschmann, Lauren and Tyler Bickel, Zachary Schutze, Seth Schutze, and great-grandchild, Colton Bickel. He is also survived by numerous family and friends.

He was a member of Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed attending Tuesday Bible lunch at First Baptist Church, Pasadena. S. D. was a true sportsman, enjoying time on the water and in the outdoors, participating in many fishing and hunting trips with friends and family. After his retirement from Bayer Chemical in 1999, he and Janiece traveled many miles in their RV, joining the San Jac Wheelers Camping group and later the Rovin’ Texans, Good Sam Chapter camping club making many friends along the way. He served as the music DJ on many of those trips while watching his wife Janiece lead line dance. He was an avid Astros fan and could find every way to catch the games as they were played.

He was most proud of his family and watching the grandkids grow up. He was respected and admired by those who knew him and greatly loved by his family who knew him best. He lived his life to the fullest and will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Dr., Baytown, Texas 77521. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Friday, March 24, 2023 at Navarre Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, Baytown, Texas.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Memorial Baptist Church, Ascend Hospice Care, or a charity of your choice.
