Sheila grew up in a military household, traveling all over along with her 3 sisters, landing in Baytown for her high school years, graduating from Robert E. Lee in 1973. Sheila returned again in 1991 with her 3 daughters, earned her associates degree from Bradford School of Business, and made a life for her and her family. In 1999, Sheila met Adam Hammers, and together, they spent their years enjoying the finer things in life; fishing together, watching their family blossom, family camping trips, getaways at the ranch, and especially being a Nana and Pepaw. Sheila faced her 5 year battle with cancer with grace and dignity. Her unconditional love, warm presence, and resilient spirit too grand for this world; her work here on earth is done. Sheila Moon was born to love and meant for wings.
Sheila will be watching over the following surviving family members; Husband of 18 years Adam Hammers, daughters and sons-in-law, Heather and Duane Mathison of Mont Belvieu, Sara and Brent Nicholas of Mont Belvieu, Carrie Moon and Brian Miller of Highlands and especially her adored grandchildren, McKenna and J.T. Mathison and Kimber and Bryleigh Nicholas. Sheila and her parents will also be looking over her sisters and families; Debra Robinson of Lindale, Lou and Bill Allen of Brownwood, and Cheri and Daniel Rouse, Jr. of Mont Belvieu.
The family will be honoring Sheila's wishes for a private, immediate family and friends service.
In lieu of flowers, Sheila requested donations be made to the Pan Foundation to provide aid for other cancer patients at https://www.panfoundation.org /index.php/en/donate.
