

Shelly was a Shift Supervisor at Total Petrochemical and had worked there for over 30 years. His favorite hobby was riding his motorcycle but his favorite life experience was giving everything to his kids and grandkids. Known for his ""give the shirt off his back"" way of life, everyone who knew him could count on him for anything.
He is survived by his wife, Kay Salmon of Baytown; sons, Shelly Salmon, III and his wife Jaimie of Liberty and Sean Salmon of LaPorte; parents, Shelly Salmon, Sr. and JoAnn Salmon of Dallas, Georgia; grandchildren, Shayla Salmon, Jaxon Salmon, Haven Salmon, Juliana Salmon, Jayce Salmon, Jayden Cordana, Julian Garcia, Mikey Young, Olivia DeLaCruz and Lilliana DeLaCruz; step-children, Amanda Rios and Felicia Rios of Baytown and Shaun Fuson of LaPorte; sisters and brothers, Vicki Thompson and her husband Tom of Athens, Texas, Connie White and her husband Bill of Spartanburg, South Carolina, Kirk Salmon and his wife Lisa of Des Moines, Iowa, Tammie Gentry and her husband Tim of Plano, Texas, Greg Salmon and his wife Ellen of Noblesville, Indiana and Terri Ledbetter and her husband Ricky of Dallas, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews and his loving pet, Sofe.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 20, 2013 at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the funeral home with Pastor Sonia Fuentes officiating. Burial will follow at Hardin Chapel Cemetery in Hardin.
