Sofia Duran

Sofia Duran, 73, of Baytown was born September 30, 1942, in Valle Hermoso, Tamaulipas, Mexico and passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, in a local hospital. She was a member of Victory Temple and had served as a missionary in Mexico.

She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Gumercindo & Maria de los Angeles Trejo and a sister and a brother. She is survived by her husband, Servando Duran; children and their spouses, Servando Duran Jr., Sylvia and Alfonso Ynfante, George Duran, Sergio and Claudia Duran, Irene Duran, Eleazar and Vanessa Duran, Fernando Duran, Diana and Anselmo Garza, Sara and Alfred Sanchez, and David and Kristel Duran; and 3 sisters, 7 brothers, 22 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.

Her family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Friday, August 12, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. at Navarre Funeral Home with Dr. Charles R. Kyle and Rev. Wayne Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roman Garza, Jose Herrera, Sergio Duran Jr., David Herrera, Joshua Duran, Ramsey Garza, Alfonso Ynfante, and Caleb Duran.
