Susan Marie Swanson Kirkland

Susan “Sue” Kirkland, 54, of Brownwood, TX, formerly of Baytown, TX, peacefully passed into the gates of Heaven on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011. Born on Nov. 21, 1956, in Duluth, MN, to loving parents Donald and Patricia Swanson, Sue worked as a radiological technician for 23 years at San Jacinto Methodist Hospital in Baytown and Brownwood Regional Medical Center in Brownwood.

Sue will always be remembered as a “sports mom.” All of her children were active in sporting events. She was at every game, rooting home a winner. She was very active in the community and a dear friend to all. She had a loving and giving heart and always put friends’ needs in front of her own. She will be long remembered for her smile and kindness.

Susan was preceded in death by her father, Donald Swanson; daughter, Dana Sue Van Wave and sister-in-law, Rachel Swanson.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories, her loving children, Lauren Kay Kirkland and Tyler Dylan Kirkland of Brownwood; mother, Patricia Swanson of Baytown; brother, Gary Swanson and his children, Russell and Cara of El Campo, TX; sister, Gail Davis and husband Patrick, and their children, Mallory and Courtney of Deer Park, TX.
