Steve,
I miss you So much sometimes.
 We finally got a boy in the family with Jack Anthony born July 10, 2023.  He is the spitting image of his dad and thus you know who.  Alex is his godfather & we all adore him.  
Poor guy with two older sisters and two three female cousins to boss him around.  Sound familiar?  
Best news of 2024 was Georgia Demi’s birth.  She is Marco’s pride & Joy and a bit of a China doll.  She has the most piercing blue eyes!!
Gerber Baby to be sure.  Her mama dresses her like a doll with matching clothes, hair headbands & shoes at 4 month old.
Had a great trip to Spain & Portugal this year to celebrate 40 years of marriage.

Well anyway…Happy New Year.

As we have begun the week that marks seven years since we lost you Steve…I must reflect on our close relationship.
Growing up with you two years younger we were partners in crime at times.  I suppose since you were a boy you might have been a bit more daring & mischievous than your older sister.
I recall your stringray bike (banana boat) seat.  I really loved that bike because it was cooler than my old blue Schwinn.  One day I took your bike and you followed after me on my larger bike.    We went to this place called Wilt’s Hill to take a ride down going really fast.  It seemed very far from our house.  Mom did not know we were going there and I suspect we were not allowed to be there.
At the time we only owned one car which Dad had driven to work.
You took a terrible spill.  The hill was not paved but rather pebbles or rocks.  You were crying and all bloody.  
I had to knock on a stranger’s door for help.  The lady had a princess phone which I had never seen.  We only had a wall phone at the time.
We were living on Rockne Drive in South Bend, Indiana.
I had to call Mom.  She phoned Dad at work.  He had to come home and take you to the doctor or hospital.  
I was so worried and felt Super Guilty.  I don’t think Dad spanked me BUT he was not very pleased with me.  I guess cause I was older than you they expected me to protect you.  I often had to take the blame for our adventures.
You had to get in bed with the Duck bed tray and  I think they moved the T.V. Into your bedroom.  That only happened if one of us was terribly ill with chicken pox or measles., etc.    
I am sorry that I led you to danger.  I miss your smile, laugh & jokes and the fact that you were one of my biggest fans.  You would LOVE all these granddaughters I have,  They are such a blessing.  I think my Alex is the “cool” uncle now.  He does have Dill as his middle name after all. Of course Steven Anthony (Tony) also named after you.

Steve was a  good friend back in 1980-81. He taught me how to snow ski when we were roommates in Idaho, and enjoyed some great spring skiing in Grand Targhee, Wyoming with two other great friends Devon and Dave.  Our final ski trip was a weekend in Sun Valley. As I write this another couple of fun weekends in Daytona beach come to mind, and our drive out to Idaho together. I've wondered about Steve many times over these 40 years and am saddened today to learn of his passing. Semper fortis Steve. 

I miss you little brother.  I remember singing Christmas carols under the tree with you and DeLeesa.
I would so look forward to our Texas visits as did your nephews.  You were a big fan and always had kind
Words for me and my boys. We all loved you a ton.

I was in Navy boot camp and Nuclear Power School with Steve long long ago. He and I hung out together often. I remember how he loved Rush and Geddy Lee. I have thought of him often over the years. I knew he was from Conroe and decided to reach out to him after this week's hurricane.  I didn't expect this.  He was that kind of person who could impact and influence you for life.  He did me.  I will enjoy seeing him again some fine day. Rest In Peace buddy. 

We are saddened to hear of Steven\'recent passing and send our condolences to Delissa, Stacy, and Terry. Many memories of our South Bend years.

Steve and I were friends early in life. The time was as memorable as it was brief. Steve, Jeff, Rock and I were inseparable for a number of years and believed we ruled the neighborhood as pre-teens. I recall us frequently hanging out at his girlfriend Heidiâ€™s house and watching the Sonny and Cher show. Thatâ€™s how long ago it was. I also remember that when we got into some of our worst mischief, Steve was likely the impetus. He was an early mentor in how to push the envelope. Yet, if there were consequences to be payed, Steve would man up like no other. We will always thank Steve for having the imagination to combine football and basketball and introduce tackling as a legal tactic for our driveway basketball games. Steve was also instrumental in demonstrating to us why the back of the school bus was where it was at. Lessons learned back there have served me well. I lost Steve a long time ago. It was the first time a good friend moved far off. It was a bitter pill to swallow back then. Iâ€™m sorry to learn of Steveâ€™s recent passing and wish comfort for those that were close to him. You can count me in the line of folks who will remember Steve fondly. Rest in peace Brother.

There are no words to express our deepest sympathy on Steve's passing. We know that he had endured many months of a painful illness and that it was very difficult to see your brother suffer. He was a very loved man who fought a tough battle and we know that sadness has filled your hearts on losing him. We are sure that he was comforted by the love and support that you gave him. He brought many happy moments to your lives and left you with a treasure trove of memories. Steve always had a smile for me; he looked past his infirmities to see the best in life. So sorry to the Dill family for your loss.

Our uncle Steve was a very kind and loving man who cared deeply for his friends and family. Steve could never hurt a soul and someone like him will be missed very much by anyone who was lucky enough to be in his life.

When anyone in our office mentioned Steve's name, everyone smiled. He had that kind of affect on people. He loved to laugh and he loved to make others laugh. The world will be, sadly, quieter without him.

One of the best men I can say I grew up and have had the pleasure of knowing my entire life on this planet Earth. Steve and I became really close the past couple of years. He became my lunch buddy and someone I could talk to about anything. He would always ask about my family and even invite my kids to come and swim at his condo. I am really saddened by the loss of Steve and I can say I am very happy to say that the Lord blessed me by allowing Steve to come into my life. I will miss you tons and with a heavy heart and our last words to one another..I LOVE YOU BROTHER

He was a kind and generous man who brought sunshine to your life with his smile, humor and passion for sports. He believed in giving to the community and was the first to make a donation for our events.
He will be missed by all that knew him but in my heart I know he is with his mother in heaven and still cheering on the Spurs.

"" God made the weak to tame the strong"", which Steve was able to accomplish in my life. I drew strength from his ability to forge ahead despite his infirmities. He truly understood the concept of ""family"" and his love for us was deep and unconditional despite our idiosyncrasies; for that I am truly grateful. I will sorely miss him, as we all will but knowing that he is now blessed with a heavenly body and in the hands of our Lord brings me peace. Steve was simple but deep. He loved animals and was quick to take in a stray. He was quick to compliment and recognize another's achievements; but not fond of the spotlight. He enjoyed a good meal and movies on television.He was intelligent and well liked. He had a dry sense of humor and could always make our Mom laugh. She told me not long ago that she loved him too much. I told her it was okay. Some kids need more love. I got in trouble for hurting him when we were small, but I looked out for him when we grew up. We lived far apart but he was always on my heart.
He was as brave and courageous as any person I ever knew. Most people he encountered were touched by his sincerity.I named one of my sons after him. He was my hero.

May Care and Love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead. Our most sincere condolences.

My heart is broken. Steve was one of my best buds when we worked together in the early 90s. We had lost touch of late and I had no idea about his recent struggles. When I moved from San Antonio to Houston, he came to help me get settled. Totally last minute - threw a toothbrush and deodorant in a plastic bag and off we went! He will always have a special place in my heart. The world is truly a darker place without Steve in it. My most sincere and heartfelt condolences to his friends and family. Words fall so short.
