Thelma Slot

Thelma Lee Slot, age 89, of Crosby, Texas went home to be with the Lord on Friday, July 28, 2023. She loved her family, spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She even loved watching “her babies” at La Petite for 19 years, working as long as she could. A great many Sundays she hosted Sunday dinner to all who could make it by. In her spare time she loved traveling and going on vacations with her children, then spending afternoons on the back porch with her husband, last year they got to spend their last anniversary together, a triumph of 69 years.

Preceded in death by her husband, Virgil “Jake” Slot; father Henry Adlong; mother Ella Poe and step-father Jeff Poe; daughter Debbie Newcomb; son-in-law Christopher Price; and great grandson Riley Garcia.

Survived by daughter Barbara Price; grandchildren Jimmy Newcomb, Dianna Newcomb, Travis Price and wife Amanda, Shannan Claussen and husband DJ, Sarah Saunders and husband Josh; great grandchildren Emily Kessler and husband Jonathon, Taylor Price, Mandy Price, Anthony Newcomb, Maddie Newcomb, Cadence Claussen, Katlyn Saunders, and CJ Saunders.
