Tyler was born in Baytown, Texas on April 21, 1997, and attended Barbers Hill schools throughout his public school years. He graduated from Barbers Hill High School in 2015. Most recently Tyler has been enrolled in engineering classes at the University of Houston-Clear Lake where he was classified as a junior. Tyler was fascinated with his grandfather’s stories about NASA and considered making a career in the space industry.
From the time he was 8 years old, Tyler loved to play tennis with his dad. He was fiercely aggressive on the court and gently easy-going off the court. Tyler played competitively in USTA tournaments all over Texas throughout his junior high and high school years, but his favorite matches were against his dad just for fun.
Tyler also spent several summers as a lifeguard at Pirate’s Bay Water Park. He saved the money he earned to buy his prized Jeep including several upgrades and accessories. He loved working on it in the garage. His curiosity about out how things work and his natural mechanical inclination helped him excel in technology and engineering.
Most importantly, Tyler was a beloved son and brother. His clever sense of humor and quick smile was always a bright moment in everyone’s day. Tyler was a pleasure to work with side by side whether it working on the car, landscaping or remodeling the house. He will be immeasurably missed by his family and friends.
Tyler’s family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Friday, July 28, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m., officiated by Reverend Eddie Norris.
