Velma Lee Leysath

She was proud to be a fifth generation Texan. She attended Cedar Bayou High School and Lee College in Baytown, Texas. She married M.K. (Peck) Adams on February 4, 1949 at Memorial Baptist Church in Baytown. They had two children, Terry Adams and Ricky Peck Adams.

Peck passed away suddenly in 1959. After his death, Velma Lee went to work as a coordinator at Exxon in Baytown. She married William Mark ""Bill"" Leysath in 1963. They spent many years traveling and enjoying cruises from Alaska to the Panama Canal. She taught Sunday School from 1958 to 2013 and loved to study the Bible and prepare her lessons. She loved the women in her Sunday School classes and prayed for, celebrated and visited with them throughout the years.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Terry (Donnie) Pittman and Ricky (Michele) Adams, her grandchildren and their spouses, Tasha Liane (Joe) Briseno and Tiffany Michele (Dustin) Young. Her great grandchildren Trenton Daniel Young and Tinsley Lianne Young were a source of laughter and joy to her. She was very excited to learn of her new granddaughter, Katherine Grey Briseno due this coming November. She will be greatly missed by all who love her. She will be interred in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Baytown with her husbands and her parents.

A graveside service, officiated by Dr. E. Richard Steel, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 7, 2015 at the Memory Gardens Mausoleum. After the service, lunch will be served at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, for those coming from out of town.

Pallbearers will be Dustin Young, Joe Briseno, Ken Frazier, and Danny Adams.
