

W. D. ""Bill"" Going, 83, of Baytown was born November 13, 1928 in China, TX and passed away Friday, August 3, 2012 in a Houston hospital. He was a U. S. Army Korean war veteran and a longtime member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church and a current member of Second Baptist Church. He formerly owned Going's Custom Slaughter Company and was retired from Lubrizol. He served on the Goose Creek School Board for eight years, was a member of Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321, and was a longtime supporter of the Baytown Youth Fair Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilly and Laura Going and wife of 54 years, Billie Jean Going. He is survived by his wife, Joy Going, son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Stacey Going, and daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Gordon Garrett, Jr., all of Baytown; brothers and sisters-in-law, Eddie and Sondra Going of Leggett and Jimmy and Midge Going of Jacksonville; grandchildren and their spouses, Shane and Jami Garrett, Luke and Roxie Mickelson, and Ashleigh and Zak Regian, all of Baytown, Laura and Josh Crawford of Conroe, and Dalton Going of Baytown; great grandchildren, Chloe and Carson Garrett, Kepler and Brahe Mickelson, Jakson Regian, and Josh Crawford; stepdaughters, Jana Miller of Houston and Joni Ralls of Virginia; step granddaughter, Dianna Muha of Houston; step great granddaughter, Kaylee Muha; and special caregiver to whom his family would like to express their appreciation, Sharon Antoine.
His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral Home Monday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Second Baptist Church, 6227 N. Main, Baytown, TX 77521. Burial will follow at White Cemetery in Highlands with Masonic services.
Serving as pallbearers will be Luke Mickelson, Shane Garrett, Dalton Going, Hilly Going, Jim Haynes, Mike Jeffrey, Johnny Barrow, and Marco Pacheco. Honorary pallbearers will be Jody Kratky, Gordon ""Red"" Garrett, Sr., Margarito Pacheco, and David Allen Abernathy.
