

William Morris Kennington, Sr., 83, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lancaster, South Carolina, on February 11, 1942, to the late Ferris and Naomi Wright Kennington. In 1963, William married the love of his life, a young woman by the name of Judy Hyatt. They spent the next 62 years together building a beautiful life together while raising their children and becoming the best grandparents.
William pursued many hobbies, some of which included his love for riding motorcycles, fishing, and traveling. He also enjoyed watching boxing and NASCAR on the television. William was a true outdoorsman; he could often be found out working on his property or tinkering in his shop. Above all, his greatest joy came from spending time with grandchildren. He was the proudest Grandpa and would brag about his grandchildren to anyone who would listen.
William was preceded in death by his parents; his son William Jr.; his grandson Anthony Kyle Bass; his maternal grandparents John and Mary Wright; his paternal grandparents William Simpson and Della Kennington; and his daughter-in-law Julia Kennington. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his beloved wife Judy; his children Sondra Kennington and Travis Kennington; his grandchildren Bryan Bass and wife Eva, Christopher Bass and wife Samantha, Matthew Bass and wife Miranda, Shalissa Ramos and husband Daniel, Ferris Kennington; his great-grandchildren Angelina, Anthony, Natalie, Zoey, Remmington, Liam, and David; his siblings Calvin Kennington and wife Yuvonne, Dian Carnes and husband Tommy, Carolyn Cos and husband Benny, Tommy Kennington and wife Barbara, Melissa West and husband Cliff; his numerous nieces and nephews; his many cousins; along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.
