Wilma Pearl Swindoll

Wilma was one of the world’s most beautiful treasures. She could light up a room with her infectious smile and she could speak to your soul through her baking. No one ever went hungry on her watch. Wilma’s Poppy Seed Cakes were famous among family and friends. Although she didn’t keep the recipe a secret, no one could ever make one just like her. It was quite possibly the love she poured into everything she touched. From cakes and brownies to the countless blankets she has sewn for family and friends. She was most definitely one of a kind.

Wilma was a devoted wife, a loving Mother, and an Adoring Mimi. She enjoyed dancing, shopping, decorating, traveling and her trips to the casinos. She loved watching Lamar Sr and Junior live out their passion for racing. Her Children, Grand Daughters and Great Grand Daughters were the joy of her life. She adored them and their spouses and they knew it by the love she shared.

Wilma’s battle with Breast Cancer was a long hard fight. She never gave up and fought it with unfathomable strength. Her passing will leave a huge void in many lives. But her memory and spirit will stay alive through her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Wilma was preceded in death by her Father, Paul Childers; her Father-in-law, Charles Swindoll Sr; Sister, Janie Childers; Brother, Joey Childers; Sister-in-law, Shelly Childers; and Great Nephew, Colton Childers.

Those left to cherish her memory are her Husband of 47 years, V. Lamar Swindoll Sr; Son, V. Lamar Swindoll Jr and wife Shannon; Daughter, Tiffany Bobalik and husband Roger; Grandchildren; Paige Nagelmueller and husband Jordan, Madison Swindoll, Haley Bobalik, Peyton Bobalik, Pearl Bobalik; Great Granddaughters; Averi and Aspen Nagelmueller. Her Mother, Bera Childers; Brother Allen Childers and wife Sharon; Brother, Wayne Childers and wife Randa; Sister, Paula McCarthy and husband Michael; Brother, Charles Childers; Mother-in-law, Mary Swindoll; along with a large extended family.

A memorial service will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Navarre Funeral Home, 2444 Rollingbrook Drive, Baytown, Texas 77521. A reception will immediately follow in the reception room of Navarre Funeral Home.
