Archie Dean Nettles

Archie Dean Nettles, Sr., 66, lifelong resident of Beaumont, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, February 25, 2025. Archie was born in Beaumont, Texas on October 11, 1958 to Ardie Nettles and the late Obie Anderson Nettles.

Archie was a proud graduate of French High School in Beaumont class of 1978 where he excelled as an athlete. His passion for track and field earned him recognition and he was known as an outstanding runner. While football was an interest, it was on the track where Archie truly exhibited his athletic ability.

Throughout his life, Archie had a love for working with his hands, particularly with electronics and ham radios. He also enjoyed traveling and treasure hunting, activities which embodied his adventurous spirit. Archie was also a real "old school" Radio Ham, a talent that the new age has all but nearly forgotten. A gifted linguist, Archie also was able to speak five languages. In his younger years, Archie displayed yet another talent by playing cello in the orchestra. He also had a love and gift for playing various instruments by ear including the harmonica, guitar and piano.

He is reunited in Heaven with his mother, Obie Nettles; grandmother, Rosie Lee Landry; and brother, Benny Frank Nettles.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sharron Nettles; father, Ardie Nettles; children, Monica Jenkins, Archie Dean Nettles, Jr., (twins) Danielle Nettles & Demetria Brown, Brandie Riles (Keenan), Heather Bobb, Joshua Scott, Daniel Duhon; brothers, Michael Nettles (Melba), Byron Nettles (Angela); sister, Sabrina Nettles Davis (Keith); grandchildren, Darius, Job, Gabrielle, Seth, Khaleigh, Kaycee, Micah, Karson; and great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family members and friends.
