

Benjamin Murillo, 79, passed from this world surrounded by his family on Sunday May 17, 2015, after a twelve year battle with cancer. He was born on March 29, 1936 in Galveston, Texas to his parents Jesus and Jessie Casades Murillo who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death was one son Benjamin Jesse Murillo, two brothers, George and Henry, and one sister Ofelia Diaz. Benjamin was a forty-five year resident of the Mid-County and worked for over thirty-five years as an accounting clerk with DuPont Beaumont Works. He was a United States Army veteran with a rank of Private E-3 and was also a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in Nederland. Benjamin was very active in the Nederland Jaycees and Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed delivering meals for the United Board of Mission Meals on Wheels. Most precious to Ben in life was family.
Surviving Mr. Murillo are his loving wife, Judy Murillo of Pt. Neches, sons, Wendell Murillo and significant other Suzanne Simmons of Beaumont, Carlton Murillo and wife Regina of Orange, daughter, Victoria Rangel of Dallas, three brothers Gilbert Murillo and wife JoAnn of San Antonio, Ray Murillo and wife Janet of Houston, Mike Murillo and wife Patsy of College Station, three sisters, Evelina de Mesquita of McAllen, Nivia Wilson of Texas City, and Lu Valdez and husband George of Cypress. Also surviving are six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Friends are cordially invited to a visitation from 10:00 A.M. until the service time of 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday May 20, 2015 at the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont.
