Charlsie “Kate” Russell, 96, of Beaumont, passed away on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. She was born on October 6, 1929, in Emblem, Texas, to the late William Herman “Shorty” Walker and Mildred (Craig) Walker.
Kate was a devoted and hardworking woman who built a long and proud career as a branch manager at Education First Credit Union (formerly Teacher’s First Credit Union). Dedicated, steady, and respected, she touched the lives of many colleagues and customers throughout her years of service.
On January 15, 1954, Kate married the love of her life, Earl Carlton Russell. They shared 50 wonderful years together until his passing in May 2004. Kate often said that the greatest joys of her life were marrying Earl, raising their three boys, and watching her family grow and live their lives. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the warmth of her unwavering support.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; her grandson, Stephen Alan Russell Jr.; and her brothers, Bob and Richard Walker.
Kate is survived by her sons, Richard Russell, Steve Russell and wife Rosa, and Kevin Russell and wife Kelly; her grandson, James “Jimmy” Russell; bonus grandchildren, Jeremy, Stephanie, Lauren; great-granddaughter, McKenzie Russell; and seven bonus great-grandchildren all of whom she loved very deeply.
Deeply loved by her family and all who knew her, Kate will be greatly missed and forever remembered for her strength, kindness, and the boundless love she gave so freely.
