Glen Patrick Portier

Pineland, Texas – Glen Patrick Portier, age 79, of Pineland, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 8, 2025, in Lake Charles, Louisiana. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, on April 5, 1945, to Eric and Mamie Portier, Glen lived a life full of dedication, hard work, and love for his family and community.

Glen was known for his tremendous work ethic and was a true workaholic, always giving 110% to everything he did. He never met a stranger and could strike up a conversation with anyone. His presence was always warm, and he was a constant source of support to all who knew him. Glen was a proud member of Turning Point Church in Pineland, Texas, and he enjoyed a diverse career, including being a real estate agent and working at the refineries during shutdowns. In the 1980s, he also owned The Depot restaurant in downtown Beaumont, Texas, a beloved establishment in the community.

He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Becky Portier; children, Amber Littlefield (Sean Thibodeaux) of Lafayette, LA; Bryce Patrick Portier (Jill) of Houston; Daniel Patrick Portier (Ashley) of Las Vegas, NV; Rebekah Smith (Gary) of Harper, TX; Mary Barzar (Troy) of Chiapas, Mexico; Ricky Woodard Jr. of West Orange; and Karen Portillo of Denton, TX. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Betty Bingham of Woodville, TX and Dianna Bowen of Austin, brother, Eric Portier of Nederland, and a large and loving extended family. Glen was a proud grandfather to Katy Portillo, Brailyn Soto, Ethan Littlefield, Cole Littlefield, Ricky Woodard III, Jabin Gipson, Sage Barzar, Kaleb Barzar Marshall Woodard, Mason Woodard, Wyatt Woodard, Ella Woodard, Annabelle Portier, Audrey Portier, Pierce Portier, and Piper Smith. He was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Luna Soto, Phoenix Soto, and Xavier Soto.

Glen’s legacy will live on in the memories of his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed, but his love, wisdom, and spirit will continue to guide us.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 14, 2025 starting at 9:00 AM. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 AM, on Friday, March 14, 2025 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont, Texas. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
