

Our Bu was born on October 18, 1946 in Dông Xuyên, Bắc Việt Nam to Gian and Ty Nguyen. She has been married to our father, Thu Van Nguyen, for 60 years. She came to the United States in 1975 and made her beautiful home in Beaumont, Texas. Along with her husband, they raised nine children and 24 grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Thu Van Nguyen, brothers Huong (Mong), Nghien, Hoang (Thuy) and Giang (Phung), and her children Hoa (Chau), Thuy (Trang), Loan (Minh), Dam (Tram), Tony (Dana), Diana (Joseph), Nancy (Vinh), and Donny (Anh), 24 grandchildren and a host of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Gian and Ty Nguyen, two sisters, son John and granddaughter Paige.
Our Bu was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was deeply devoted to the Catholic church and community. She attended mass daily at St. Joseph Church of which she was a longtime parish member. She enjoyed traveling and laughing with her family and friends and visiting holy sites. One of her favorite pastimes was cooking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Bu was an avid storyteller, bargain shopper, and fixer of all things. Bu will always be remembered for her loving and fiery spirit.
A gathering of Bu’s family and friends will begin at 2:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. to follow with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 9, Thursday, September 10, and Friday, September 11, 2020 at Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 4955 Pine Street, Beaumont.
A Mass of Celebration of Life will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 1115 Orange Avenue, Beaumont, TX. Due to pandemic, mass attendance is asked to practice mask wearing and social distancing guidelines. The graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Beaumont, TX. Guests attending the graveside service, please follow the funeral procession.
