

Jack graduated from South Park High School in Beaumont, Texas. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the U.S.S. Barnett in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. He and Bert Barlow eloped on Valentines Day in 1950. Jack worked for Mobil Oil for 32 years as a chemist and was a devoted caregiver to Bert. Jack and Bert had many shared interests and were supporters of the Beaumont Botanical Gardens, Beaumont Police, Citizens on Patrol, Jefferson Theater Restoration and Lamar University Scholarship Funds. He also enjoyed fishing and attending his son’s baseball games.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bertha Binks; son, Jackie Binks and wife, Susan; daughter, Debbie Linney and husband, David; grandchildren, Emily Cantrell and husband, Nick, Amy Sanderson and husband, Perry, David Linney and wife, Kiera, Derek Linney and wife, Sharon; great grandchildren, Landon Linney and Katie Linney; a niece and 2 nephews.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Beaumont Botanical Gardens, 6088 Babe Zaharias Dr. Beaumont, Texas 77705.
