

James Edward (Jim) Burton, II. He was born in Beaumont, Texas to James and Mary Burton November 29, 1959. He is survived by his parents Rev. J.E. Burton and Mary Burton of Bevil Oaks, two sisters:Melissa (Missy) Burton Dudley of Houston and Molly Burton DeMaio and her husband John of Carlsbad, California, Sweetheart Jayna Little of Webster, his daughter Faith and fiancee’ Derrick Snider of Lumberton, Rachel Prince of Hempstead and granddaughter,Vanessa Aguilar of Hempstead, Baby Grandson Wyatt James Snider is on the way. Jim had two nephews Jordan Dudley of Austin and Justin DeMaio of Carlsbad,California, three nieces Chrissy Dudley of Austin, Amanda and Allie DeMaio of Carlsbad, California and one great niece Audrey Clair Sloan of Austin, his aunt Charlotte Slawson Ayres of Lumberton. There are also numerous extended family members and friends. Jim was the owner and operator of Burton Enterprises. He was a lifelong resident of the Beaumont and Lumberton areas and attended the First Baptist Church of Lumberton. He was given an award as Best Painter by the Silsbee Chamber of Commerce. Jim had a long list of various hobbies which included bass fishing, and hunting, playing music on his guitar. He loved all kinds of music and even enjoyed writing songs about things and people he loved. He loved all kinds of animals, especially his best buddy Jesse known as "Frog Dog". He was an avid Dallas Cowboy's fan. Whenever the chance arose he was known to cook his favorite chocolate gravy and hot biscuits for any and all visitors. He enjoyed family get togethers and just recently cooked the meal in celebration of his Mother's Seventy-Fifth birthday party. Jim did all these things because of his profound love for The Lord Jesus Christ his Savior and the Lord's love for him in return. Jim earned his angel wings on May 23rd at St. Elizabeth Hospital and began his heavenly flight. #1 loving son,wonderful brother, loving Dad and grandfather. Visitation will be held on Monday May 26, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be on Tuesday May 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Beaumont. Serving as pallbearers will be Mark Crisp, Ernest LeDoux, Gary Snider, Hank Roberts, John DeMaio, Jay Slawson, and Mike Coffee.
