• William Shakespeare.
To describe Jerry's approach to life as "fierce" is an understatement. With her conviction as the strong matriarch of her family, her utmost priority was her family. As a purpose driven single mother raising two boys, one with special needs, she was, and continues to be, their advocate. She provided a solid foundation, resulting in two kind and thoughtful sons, together with two grandsons, who she loved beyond measure through this often-harsh world. Her inner fierceness and selfless heart resulted in a care for others, positively impacting many lives by opening doors and providing others a place of refuge and belonging. She blessed all of us by seeing no color, no orientation, no religion, and no handicap, by only welcoming and caring for the person. She understood everyone often needs someone fierce in their corner. She was a true warrior, and the perfect role model for strength, perseverance, tenacity, loyalty, compassion, and how we should love, protect, defend, champion, and care for one another. We will miss her, deeply, but will carry Jerry and her fierceness within us as her legacy lives on.
Jerry is survived by her son, Tony Pruitt of Beaumont, Sisters, Wanda Sue Freeman of Dallas, Myrtis Evelyn Long of Orange Beach, Alabama; several other friends and relatives.
