

Our mother, Juanita Allen Albritton, passed away in her Pasadena, TX home she loved and lived in for 63 years on December 13, 2020 at the age of 90 years old. Mother was born in Orange Texas on May 28, 1930. She was the 2nd child and 1st daughter born to Mary Lee and Fred Lee Allen. She was a beloved mother and grandmother to her 4 children, 3 grandchildren, and 1 great-granddaughter.
Mother loved to cook and was known for her sweet potato pie, pinto beans, and fried chicken. She taught her children to cook and loved cooking with them. Mother taught us family favorite recipes for gumbo, rice balls, spaghetti sauce,and cornbread dressing.
She was passionate about gardening and had the prettiest landscaped yard on the block. She was a highly skilled seamstress, and also skilled with knitting needles and crochet hooks.
Mother was preceded in death by her first born Jimmie Lynne Albritton, mother Mary Lee Allen, father Fred Lee Allen, 2 brothers Fred Lee Allen Jr and RG Allen, and 2 sisters Evelyn Allen and Minnette LaGrone.
She is survived by her brother Roger Allen, by her children: Sharon Ann Oquinn and husband David, James W Albritton Jr and wife Anne, and Glenda Albritton, as well as by her grandchildren: Amanda Mavila-Oquinn and husband Miguel, David Oquinn Jr, Lauren Oquinn, and great-granddaughter Liliana Mavila-Oquinn.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Juanita will be held Saturday, December 19, 2020 at 9:30am at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in the Halls of Serenity, followed by her Celebration of Life at 10:00am.
