Dear Larry, Dale and families,
So sorry for your loss.  Aunt Kathryn will be missed.  I can remember her calling Stacie her angel but she loved all of her grandbabies.   She was a very special aunt!!  Love you all!

Kathryn Crocker, my cousin, will live in my memory as a strong, gentle, caring, very intelligent person & someone who loved being a teacher for all the right reasons.  I remember one night, many years ago, a group of us were walking from our cars into someone's house for a family get-together, something I didn't have an opportunity to participate in very often because we didn't live locally, & Kathryn & I had been discussing my future plans after high-school graduation, which was coming up shortly.  She hung back & took a few minutes to tell me that she was proud of me & to encourage me to go on to college & get a degree, & she highly recommended teaching.  I admired her very much, as did my mother, her Aunt Dib, & I remember thinking that if I lived close enough to her to see her often, I might develop the confidence in myself to become the person she saw in me.  I would also like to mention that Kathryn & her sisters, the Cherry girls, were extraordinarily attractive & photogenic & probably caused a sensation wherever they went.  But they truly were beautiful on the inside as well as the outside.  I'm grateful for the opportunity to participate in her memorial in this way.  Thank you.  Larry Wayne & Johnie and all the rest of Kathryn's  loving family, I will be thinking of you.

Having one's Mother pass on over to the other side is hard, but I feel my Mother closer now than ever every day.  Mom's are the Glue which holds Families Together!  Love to you Cousin, Fairy Crocker Hitchcock, Boise, ID

Nana,  I have no words to express the depth of the impact you made on my life...you made me believe I was something special...you did this for so many, as you were a much favored and loved teacher to so many blessed children before you retired.  

I was such a lucky and blessed little girl to be able to get cozy beneath your wing and even more blessed to see my own babies be loved and adored by you.  So rich and lavish was your love for us, that hardly any earthly thing compares...

And though you have hardly spoken in many years, I still hear the purr of your melodic voice and the silver sweet notes of your laughter...and it will carry me and comfort me for a time to come.

I feel very selfish in this pain, as I know my parents, aunt, uncle, and great aunts, as well as your many nieces and nephews, knew you longer and that their pain must be even deeper...but we all are blessed with so many beautiful memories of you, your class, your style, your stories, your love!!!  And we will honor your memory with stories of our own.  We will comfort each other and continue your legacy of care and love.

Thank you for taking me to church so often as a little girl, and for making me think I was something special...when the fact is, you were something special!!
