Kevin was a graduate of West Brook High School and LIT. He was a welder and worked for A+ Cardinal Property Service. He had accomplished the rank of Eagle Scout, which helped him learn many traits to use as a counselor. His most cherished job was being a counselor at Charis Hills Camp in Sunset, TX, a camp for children with disabilities. One of the camp owners, Mr. Rand was Kevin’s confidant for many years—he couldn’t wait to see him every summer, sit under the shade tree and share conversations about woodworking and his life! Rand wanted to share that for approximately the past 10 years he would ask the campers who their favorite counselor was, and they would always say Kevin. He was almost always the #1 favorite, but never lower than #2!!
If anyone knew Kevin, they knew he had a heart “as big as Texas”, a hug like a big teddy bear and a belly laugh that would make you laugh. His pen making skills were impeccable and his ability to make different things out of wood were always amazing. Kevin was always “that Person”. He was the one you could always count on to lend a helping hand, be a shoulder for you to cry on and had so much kindness others flocked to him—especially children. He was called the child whisperer many times. In his spare time, he loved to experiment in the kitchen, especially making simple syrups and many forms of coffee/syrup combinations. He always had to bring down his concoctions for his mom to taste—some she liked, and some were a “NO WAY!” They would always laugh, and Karen would wait for the next time. Many people were lucky enough to try his coffee and all loved it. He was the designated coffee maker!
His niece and nephew were a light in his life, and his father and brother were his best friends.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Keith and Karen Glidden, Beaumont and one brother Kolin Glidden (Gaby) of Dallas, TX. He has one niece Charlotte and one nephew Henry. He is also survived by his grandmother, Deanna Glidden of Buna, TX and his uncles Hermie Bundick (Patsy), Jeff Bundick (Lydia), Danny Glidden (Diana) and aunts Jada Kamp and Kimberly Battaglia (Dan), and Susan Imhoff. He is preceded in death by his Paw Paw and Nonnie, Shelby and Delores Bundick; Grandpa E.C. Glidden; Aunt Norma Bundick, Uncle Mike Kamp and cousin Madison Kamp. He has numerous cousins, a large extended family and many, many friends.
