Lillie Ray Martin, age 94, passed away May 18, 2011. She was born July 6, 1916. Lillie was a longtime resident of Beaumont. She attended Amelia Baptist Church where she enjoyed weekly dominos and lunch with her friends. Although unable to do so recently, she loved bowling and traveling.
Lillie is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Gene Alexander of Beaumont, and numerous grand, great, and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter “Red” Martin and son, Chris S. Martin.
Visitation will take place Friday, May 20, 2011 from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Dowlen Oaks and Compassionate Care Hospice.
