He is preceded in death by his wife of 71 years, Doris, and eleven brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his sons, Randall Nelson and David Nelson; grandchildren, Walter Nelson, Tara Nelson and Tracy Nelson Camacho; three great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
He served as a US Navy aviator during World War II, and subsequently earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M. He worked in refining and marketing for Mobil Oil for over 40 years, retiring in 1986.
A Celebration of Lloyd’s Life will be held at Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Saturday, November 25 at 2:00 pm; Visitation will be from 12:30 to 2:00 pm. Burial will immediately follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
