Mattie Jeanette Lindsey Carr

Mattie Jeanette Carr, 89, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, February 11, 2010 at her home. She was a native of Mobile, Alabama and moved to Beaumont when she was 6 years old. She was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Bevil Oaks.

Mattie was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, a sister, her husband and her eldest son, Marvin. She is survived by daughters, Glynis Pillow of Beaumont and Kay Midkiff and husband Patrick of Kirbyville, and son J.W. and wife Janie Lindsey of Crosby; sister-in-law, Marcia Lindsey. She has 12 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren.

Mrs. Carr was retired from Weingarten’s after more than 20 years of service. She loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling, reading, puzzles, cards, dominoes and all types of games.

Visitation will take place Saturday, February 13, 2010 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 14, 2010 at 3:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
