Mrs. Browne was born on July 30, 1920 to James and Mina Stephens in Clio, Alabama. She married William Browne on July 3, 1941 in Panama City, FL. She was a charter member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Nederland. She loved to cook and sew.
Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, parents, 3 brothers; James R Stephens, Emory Stephens, Arden Stephens and a sister, Irma Norton.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Browne of Richmond, TX and a son-in-law, Randy Townsend; 2 sisters, Barbara Slayton of Troy, AL and Joye Pursell and husband Bill of Durham, NC.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Saturday August 21, 2010 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday following the visitation. Interment will follow in the “Garden of Gethsemane” of Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
